Corrugated and flat asbestos cement roofing is one of the most common ACMs found in UK properties. Our HSE-licensed team removes it safely, legally and quickly — with full air clearance and waste documentation included.
Properties built or roofed before 2000 very commonly feature asbestos cement (AC) roofing — particularly on garages, garden sheds, outbuildings, barns and industrial units. Asbestos cement is a bonded, lower-risk form of asbestos, but that does not mean it is safe to ignore or disturb without the right precautions. As the material ages and weathers, it becomes increasingly friable, making it far more likely to release respirable fibres during any disturbance. Drilling, cutting, breaking or even walking on deteriorating sheets can put operatives and bystanders at significant risk.
The HSE reports that asbestos-related diseases still cause around 5,000 deaths a year in the UK — more than any other single work-related cause. Even with a lower-risk material like AC roofing, a methodical approach is essential. All removal must follow HSE Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, sheets must be carefully wetted down to suppress fibres before and during handling, and all waste must be double-bagged, labelled and transported to a licensed hazardous waste facility accompanied by consignment notes.
We offer two clear options depending on your situation. Both include all the safety procedures, waste handling and documentation required by law. Most residential jobs are completed in a single day.
Our team arrives, sets up the correct exclusion zone and wets down all sheets thoroughly before any handling begins. The asbestos cement roofing is carefully removed sheet by sheet, double-bagged in specialist asbestos waste bags and sealed. The site is fully cleaned down after removal. You receive hazardous waste consignment notes as your legal proof of compliant disposal — useful for insurance, planning applications and future property sales.
Everything in Option 1, plus we fit a brand-new GRP (glass-reinforced plastic) fibreglass roof in the same visit. GRP is a modern, maintenance-free roofing material that is lightweight, durable and extremely long-lasting. Because we handle both removal and replacement ourselves, there is no need to coordinate separate contractors — one provider, one visit, zero hassle. Our GRP fibreglass replacement comes with a 20-year guarantee, giving you complete peace of mind for decades to come.

Safety is always the top priority on every job we do. Every team member is trained, every procedure is methodical, and every project leaves a full paper trail.
Fully licensed under the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. Comprehensive insurance for every job, regardless of size. You are in safe, legal hands from start to finish.
Every sheet is dampened before and during handling to suppress fibre release. This methodical wet-down approach is essential and non-negotiable for protecting everyone on and around the site.
Don't want to be left with an open roof frame? We offer GRP fibreglass replacement roofing in the same visit, backed by a 20-year guarantee. One team, one day, everything done.

How do I know if my roof contains asbestos?
Asbestos cement roofing cannot be confirmed by sight alone — it looks similar to modern fibre cement sheeting. If your garage, shed or outbuilding was roofed before 2000, there is a high likelihood that asbestos cement is present. We offer free site assessments across Surrey and the Home Counties, and can arrange UKAS-accredited sample analysis where a definitive answer is needed before works proceed.
Is it safe to leave an asbestos roof in place?
If the material is undisturbed, firmly bonded and in good condition, the risk is relatively low in the short term. However, as AC roofing ages, it becomes more porous and brittle, increasing the risk of fibre release from rainfall, weathering or accidental impact. If the sheets are cracking, mossy, flaking or if any building work is planned nearby, professional removal is strongly advised. We can assess the condition of your roof during a free survey.
Can I remove asbestos roofing myself?
No — and it is not worth the risk. Even though asbestos cement is classed as a lower-risk material, DIY removal is illegal without the proper training, equipment and licensing. Improperly handled sheets can shatter and release thousands of microscopic fibres that are invisible to the naked eye and remain in the air for hours. All asbestos removal must be carried out by trained and appropriately equipped operatives following HSE procedures.
Can you replace my roof at the same time as removing it?
Yes — this is one of our most popular options. Once the asbestos cement sheets are safely removed, our team can fit a new GRP fibreglass replacement roof in the same visit. GRP is lightweight, maintenance-free and far more durable than traditional felt or corrugated alternatives. Our replacement roofs come with a 20-year guarantee, and because we handle both removal and installation, you only deal with one company throughout the whole process.
No obligation. We'll confirm what you have, how much it will cost and when we can start.
